Namibia's roads were surprisingly diverse, and although there were fairly long stretches of straight roads and not a lot of traffic, driving did require focusing. Sometimes the road would seem like a mirage, or suddenly end,  twist and turn,  be dusty, sandy, or rocky , but it was never boring.  And you weren't the only ones on it !!

We needed to get a good night's rest in Windhoek, as we were setting off on a road trip around Namibia, with a short stop in Botswana, and a very short stop in Angola.  There would be long stretches of road simple accommodation candle lit sunsets lots of sand and the occasional kittycat!

On our first night in Namibia we stayed at the lovely Olive Grove Guesthouse in Windhoek. Our room was simply super! Glass, metal and linen combined with simple lighting, and concrete basins and bath, were the perfect combination for a relaxed stay and a good night's sleep!
